Frequently asked questions
At what stage of a project can AxeCodeSecure get involved?
At any stage: requirements definition, architecture design, development, right before launch or with the system already in production. The earlier we start, the lower the cost of addressing risk and rework.
What is the difference between code review, automated analysis and a pentest?
Automated analysis (SAST and DAST) uses tools to continuously detect known patterns. Code review is a specialist reading of the code that finds logic and authorization flaws. A pentest simulates attacks against the running application to validate what is exploitable in practice. The three approaches complement each other.
Does the pentest include a retest after fixes?
Yes. Retesting the fixed vulnerabilities can be included in the scope, with a report updating the status of each item.
Does your team help developers fix vulnerabilities?
Yes. Remediation support is part of how we work: we explain each finding, guide the fix and validate the result.
Can we engage you for an initial assessment only?
Yes. An assessment is a good way to start: it identifies the main risks and produces a prioritized plan, with no commitment to further stages.
Can AxeCodeSecure work alongside our in-house team?
Yes. We act as an extension of your team, complementing skills and transferring practices so the team becomes more autonomous.
What information is needed to start an assessment?
For the first conversation, a description of the system, the goal and the project stage is enough. Details such as access, documentation and environments are defined later, together with the scope and rules of engagement.
How are client information and access protected?
We work under a non-disclosure agreement when applicable, with least-privilege access, dedicated and temporary credentials whenever possible, and return or disposal of information at the end of the engagement.
Do you work on-site or remotely?
We work mainly remotely. On-site meetings can be arranged as the project requires, especially in Salvador and the surrounding area.
Do you serve clients outside Salvador and Bahia?
Yes. Salvador is where we come from, and we serve companies throughout Brazil.
